Ibera Natural Reserve Iberá means in guarani: "Glittering waters". |
||
| This enormous wetland, covering
more than 13.000 square kilometers, form the biggest uncontaminated fresh water mass in
the world. Its Flora and Fauna are amongst the richest in South America, with 350
different species of birds, abundant reptiles, colorful butterflies amongst myriad
insects, and several mammals on the verge of extinction, grow in this unspoiled
environment. In order to protect this range, the Province of Corrientes has created this park in 1983. Since then, the fauna has become so tame, that you can shoot the best pictures with a standard camera with normal zoom. Professional photographers have a field day ! The Ibera lagoon (which means Shining waters in Guaraní language) with its crystal clear waters, covers 5.200 hectares and is just one of 60 lagoons that spread over this pristine ecosystem. A must for Nature lovers. " Iberá is a treasure! We trougtly enjoied our stay at Posada de la Laguna, and we wish the best succes in this building your busines here. Please help to save Iberá for future generations!" Ray & Isabelle . California |
